Fruit of the Month

Aviv Roskes and Claire Schmitt

Writing Fruit of the Month has been the journey of a lifetime. We struggled to come up with the best fruit to conclude the era of FOTM, so we have decided instead to have a tribute to the fruit world as a whole. So, without further ado, here is a comprehensive ranking of the 17 most prominent fruits.

  1. Coconut- You can’t even do anything with it in its raw form.
  2. Grapefruit- It’s just a terrible orange.
  3. Orange- Close to being a clementine, but big and hard to eat.
  4. Watermelon- Tasty and festive, but lacks any wow factor.
  5. Pineapple- So good! Except when it makes your mouth hurt.
  6. Blueberry- Yummy little blue candy balls, but if they are mushy all bets are off.
  7. Banana- Versatility at its finest! Truly a feel-good kind of fruit.
  8. Cherry- Hard to avoid the pit, but otherwise a remarkable bite-size experience.
  9. Nectarine- Great balance of sweet and sour.
  10. Strawberry- At berry season’s peak, there is nothing like a big, juicy strawberry. Yummy.
  11. Grapes- Usually underrated, but really just the perfect snack food.
  12. Raspberry- Tart! Zing! Pop!
  13. Plum- Whether you prefer sweet and juicy or firm and tart, there is a plum out there for everyone.
  14. Peach- There is nothing like a fresh peach in the summer. It’s perfectly sweet, pleasant, and kind.
  15. Clementine- We love clementines, they are cute little oranges with even cuter wedges.
  16. Apple- This is a timeless fruit that never disappoints. We are looking at you, lovely honeycrisp.
  17. Mango- This fruit is simply delicious. The perfect texture, vibrant flavor, and delightful sweetness gives this fruit its spot in first place.
