5. “Jingle Bell Rock” by Bobby Helms

This song is recognizable from the second it starts. It’s easy lyrics and simple beat offer it my list’s 5th place spot. A cornerstone of Christmas music, the lyrics are as stereotypical as they come which makes me love it even more. What a great way to start off the list!

4. “Feliz Navidad” by Jose Feliciano

To say I was obsessed with this song as a child in an understatement. I speak zero Spanish, yet I will mumble my way through this whole song. Who doesn’t love a little multiculturality? When I was thinking of what songs to put on here, I was looking through a list and, scrolling past all the songs, I almost smacked myself when I came by this one. How could I ever forget it? The only reason it isn’t ranked higher is because the singalongbility is slightly lower, (unless of course you speak Spanish).

3.”All I want for Christmas is You” by Mariah Carey

Can it really be Christmas without a Mariah Carey song? Though I have never successfully hit the high notes in this song, don’t believe that I don’t belt my lungs out singing along to the rest of it. The singalongbility is astronomical, definitely a 100/10. Plus, on a serious note, Christmas is all about being with people, and the lyrics reflect that all we want for Christmas is you, not the presents.

2. “It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas” by Michael Bublé

I love Michael Bublé. Everyone loves Michael Bublé. This song always makes me feel like crying because of how nostalgic it is. It reminds me of snow outside, a fire in the hearth, and just laying on the couch with my dogs, happily oblivious and young. This song is the first one I listen to after Thanksgiving, and it instantly puts me in a Christmas mood.

1. “Last Christmas” by Wham!

I mean, come on, could this song be anything but number one? The lyrics, the beat, the music video (if you have not seen the video, go watch it now. Do it!!!) I remember, as a child, watching the video on repeat to look at the outfits and the hair, amazed. George Michael’s vocals are astounding, as we know from “Careless Whisper,” and the singalongbility of this song is a solid 10/10. The lyrics are stereotypical, but I feel that only adds to the catchiness of this song and for that reason it is deservedly in first place.
