Bummed you didn’t get tickets to Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour? Going into a deep depressive spiral because of it? Well, don’t fret because there are several opportunities to see live music this summer! From concerts to festivals, here are some of the best performances that you won’t want to miss:
- Governors Ball (NYC, June 9-11): Hear me out. I know this music festival isn’t in DC, but the lineup is absolutely insane. From Lil Nas X to Lizzo and Kendrick Lamar, how could you not shift your plans to drive up to this? Wait. It already happened. Too bad, you missed it.
- Out and About Festival (Virgina, June 24-25 ): In honor of gay pride, the Out and About Festival was formed to celebrate and showcase queer musicians. Headlined by country superstar Brandi Carlile, this musical festival is something you won’t want to miss.
- Ed Sheeran (FedEx Field, June 24): If the Out and About festival doesn’t feel like the right thing for you, then you’re in luck because Ed Sheeran is coming to the DC area on the same day! From slow love songs to number one pop tracks, Sheeran has everything to offer, including his iconic hair. Even though it’s a bit of a schlep to get there, trust me, you won’t regret it.
- Drake (Capital One Arena, July 28-29): If there’s any way you can possibly snag tickets to this concert, you’re going to want to. His R&B infusion into hip hop makes a one of a kind sound that will make you want to party.
- Beyonce (FedEx Field, August 5-6): It’s Beyonce. No explanation needed.
These live music festivals and concerts are a great way to spend time with friends and breathe the same air as musical icons. I mean, who would want to miss out on that?
