Winter break is right around the corner, but the holiday spirit has been in full swing for weeks. As you may have noticed, we are seeing a lot of new clothing being worn to accommodate for the freezing temperatures and festive times, so here is a deep dive into the most popular fashion trends to be found in the halls of Jackson-Reed this year.
We are seeing a new spike in UGGs this time of year as the chilling weather is hitting us out of nowhere. This cold has brought about a whole new wave of fashions, with sweaters and puffers becoming increasingly noticeable.
When asked about what his favorite things are to wear during the cold holiday season, junior Sam Heinemann said, “I like to dress warm, be comfortable. I like wearing quarter zips, fleeces, sweatpants.”
It’s not only people that are changing what they wear, your favorite clothing stores are also embracing the holiday spirit. New color schemes, festive clothing, warmer clothing is a very popular theme this time of year. In Urban Outfitters, you can see all of these. There are a lot of festive decorations like Christmas trees, ornaments, white snowy decor and an overall warm and comforting environment. Something that caught my eye is that there was only holiday decoration for Christmas, there was no recognition for Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, or any of the other numerous winter holidays. You will see an abundant amount of sweaters and fleeces.
This sums up much of what you see these days in the halls of Jackson-Reed. With everyone finishing work and just trying to survive until break, all people want to do is be as comfy as possible. So stay warm, stay comfy, and enjoy winter break!
