Streaming services have changed the lives of so many people. To be able to watch anything you want whenever and wherever, for a simple monthly cost, is incredible. Unfortunately today we are not praising them for their achievements but instead comparing them for their worth!
To help us rank streaming services, we can start from their library, which will be worth five points. Then to the monthly cost, which will be worth one point, then to how many bangers they hold which will be worth three! Then looking at the avatar features of the streaming services which will be worth another point.
First, let’s compare the libraries of some of the most used services: Hulu, Netflix, and the honorable mention Crunchyroll and for those who don’t know of Crunchyroll it is a streaming service that only puts out content that revolves around asian comics. moving in to the rankings now. First for Hulu’s library, it consists not only of many popular shows, but also some niche shows, giving it a five on library.
As for Netflix, it holds many niche and popular shows and movies, but takes them off after a period of time. Every time I come back to watch a show it disappears! Unfortunately, this results in a three for Netflix.
As for Crunchyroll, it has a library of exclusively Asian animation. However, its exclusivity makes for a very specific library, resulting in a four overall for Crunchyroll.
Moving on to the monthly cost of the streaming services. Hulu’s cost is a reasonable price considering the quality of shows and movies included; they’re so highly rated and are both comedic and enjoyable that the price is perfectly reasonable giving Hulu the point for monthly cost.
Netflix on the other hand, is similarly priced, but after limiting the accounts of Netflix and putting restraints on family’s usage as they had put restrictions to when I tried log in to my account I was blocked out because cousin was already there, on the sub par shows and miniscule bangers they have on the shows resulting a zero in price for Netflix.
As for Crunchyroll, its early access to all content makes the price worth it, adding on with all the tiers that are included and the benefits they give to the users with the lowest subscription tier being at 7.99 $, giving Crunchyroll the point for cost.
Let’s go into one of the biggest pull factors of streaming services: the amount of bangers a streaming service has. When I speak of bangers, I mean the rewatchability of a show or movie. Not everything is a banger, as only a banger can have people rewatching it over and over, but let’s move onto the ranking.
Starting with Hulu once again; it is one of the biggest banger-holding streaming services with most shows and movies having high rewatchability. This gives it an overall score of three on the number of bangers it has.
Moving on to Netflix, it sadly is nothing in comparison to Hulu’s number of bangers as they only hold a few. Netflix has a large quantity of good shows that are not bangers, as none of them are really rewatchable. For Netflix the result is an unfortunate score of one.
Finally for the banger category we have Crunchyroll.Despite its high exclusivity, the streaming service still has a relatively high number of bangers with most shows having a high rewatchability and a large fan base, resulting in a score of three. Even though the streaming service is very exclusive, the number of bangers does not dwindle.
Finishing off the rankings with the feature that first appears when users open a streaming service: the avatar. While it may seem inconsequential, this can be a good indicator of the amount of bangers, as the fewer bangers the fewer cool characters that users have to choose from.
Starting off the ratings we begin with Hulu once again. Its high number of bangers makes for a variety of cool characters to choose from in avatar customization. This gives Hulu the point for avatar customization.
Going on to Netflix; throughout this rating Netflix has been receiving low scores for its poor performance as a streaming service, but in terms of avatar customization its superiority shines through. It has a variety of cool characters from its live action characters to its animated characters from its best shows which gives them the point for avatar customization.
Moving on to Crunchyroll. It has a multitude of bangers, giving it cool characters from all types of shows streamed on the service for your avatar use. With this, it gets the point for customization. Now to finally sum up the points. We have Hulu coming in at a perfect score of 10 points, receiving perfect scores in all categories. Netflix comes in with a subpar score of five, because of its miniscule number of bangers and how they keep deleting them from their catalog. Moving on to the final streaming service, Crunchyroll. It scored a perfect score of 10, just as Hulu did, even with its exclusivity in genre. They still have a lot of bangers just as Hulu did, but unlike Netflix they never delete any of the shows present in their catalog. A disclaimer for all readers of this article, all of these rankings were my own rating, personal taste, and experience with these streaming services. That said, we all know the best streaming service is Sailing the Seven Seas (illegal services) looking for the booty.
