Each year, homecoming nominees hang countless posters up above the water fountains and around the school, with Instagram selfies and Snapchats, in hopes of winning a position in Wilson’s homecoming court.
This year, the homecoming dance will take place Saturday, October 24, and the vote for Homecoming Court will take place on Friday the 23rd. Student Government Association representatives will distribute ballots to all second period classes, and winners will be announced at the homecoming game.
Student government decided to make the application process a bit longer this year in hopes of attracting more serious and dedicated applicants. They plan on getting them more involved in Spirit Week festivities. Nominees are in charge of their own campaigns. They hang posters, give out food, and introduce themselves around the school in hopes of racking up votes.
All nominees will receive sashes, while the King and Queen will get their own crowns. The application process includes getting 25 signatures of support and a signature from a dean.
