On March 6, 2026, Harry Styles released “Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally.” The album includes 12 songs, totaling 43 minutes. As a Directioner, this album really spoke to me, with subtle lines hinting at the late Liam Payne.
The album opens with “Aperture,” a 6-minute song best described as an upbeat, disco, and techno piece, released on January 22, 2026, prior to the rest of the album.
Before the album was officially announced, the lyric “we belong together” was teased on posters, videos, and past performances, intriguing his audience and symbolizing community.
The album continues with “American Girls,” a song reflecting on how Styles has seen his friends settle down in life but has yet to do the same.
The album then transitions to “Ready, Steady, Go!,” an upbeat song that practically forces you to get up and dance, conveying the chaos of a fast-paced life in somewhat impulsive and unpredictable ways. “Are You Listening Yet?” follows, introducing more important themes of accountability and self-reflection.
One of my personal favorites, “The Waiting Game,” is a ballad that describes entering a cycle of stagnation, or not making progress in a relationship due to expecting others to change, while not reflecting on your own personal change.
The second half of the album starts with “Season 2 Weight Loss,” a techno intro that turns into a song about worrying about others’ perception of you. Styles sings, “Hoping you will love me now” and “Do you love me now?” to emphasize that point.
“Coming Up Roses” is another great slow song that explores self-acceptance in the context of breakups and relationships.
“Pop” harks back to the more upbeat soundtracks relating to the little control established in newer, more passionate relationships.
“Dance No More” includes a call-and-response in the chorus, where Styles mentions wanting to be himself and not follow the norms of a performer.
Reaching the end of the album, “Paint By Numbers” is a song that has a somber tone, expressing Styles’ opinions on the negatives of fame, with stardom not allowing him to be a “normal” guy.
The “paint by numbers” refers to the narrow rules forced onto him, and the line “kids with water guns” is seemingly directed towards Liam Payne, as on tour with One Direction, the pair would get up to shenanigans.
The final song on the album is “Carla’s Song,” a tribute to a friend. “It’s all waiting for you” is a recurring lyric in the song, reassuring her and showing the comfort music can bring.
I strongly recommend giving “Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally” a listen whether you’re a Harry Styles fan or just want to listen to a great album. It both goes deep into important topics while staying upbeat, keeping it easy to dance along to. •
